Trent's trip across the USA?

Heres a thread to ask Trent anything and everything about his USA trip, which sounds pretty exciting!

I know I have a few questions about his 3000 mile trip, im sure yall do too?

My fist question is:
Q: Are you planning on building a full size plane to fly 3000 miles?
on you would sit on, and use RC gear for the flight?

Q: Are you trying to make a 3000 mile road trip and fly and every stop or something?
Or are you going to fly as far as you can, and either chase it, or make camp where ever it dies?

Q: How are you going to deal with the AMA/ FAA trying to fly 3000 miles over houses, and business, national parks, and such?

Question 1: As much trust as I have in my airplane, I will not be riding it : ) I will following along in a chase car.

Question 2: Exactly. Basically a road trip with an RC airplane follow along. The airplane and chase car will be as close together as possible to increase safety and accountability.

Question 3: As of right now, there are no laws by the FAA that would prohibit me from making this trip. However, these laws are changing as I write this, so we'll see how it shakes out over the next two years. With that said, there are FAA guidance documents that I will follow to the best of my ability that dictate altitude limits and proximity to airports. The AMA doesn't make laws, and to my knowledge, wouldn't be able to support this trip as there will be points in the journey where I will have to fly over something other than an AMA field.
