How did you set up the APM2 for failsafe using your Turnigy 9X transmitter? Are you using the standard 8 channel receiver that came with the transmitter? The DIY Drones site has little info on this.
You show the APM2 Tx and Rx LEDs flashing in episode 74 when the RC transmitter is on. My Tx and Rx LEDs only flash when the USB port is connected and talking to my computer. Never when it is in the plane!
I have the same hardware and would love to make this work. Are you using standard release firmware? How did you do it?

Come on guys. How did you set up the APM2 and 9X to make the failsafe work. All the info I can find on DIY Drones says you have to change the TX module and Rx in the plane to detect the loss of signal. How did you do it?

If you are in a hurry for an answer from Trent and Nick... don't be. Trent's main output/interface is YouTube. The forum is looked at, it appears, about 2 or 3 times a week.
I've sent PMs to him, unanswered so far. He is just a very busy guy.

I got this to work by reflashing the PPM firmware (v2.2.68) on the APM2. The TX LED flashes quickly with good radio signal and slowly with no radio signal. Upon loss of signal the APM2 goes to circle mode. After 20 seconds if signal is not restored it goes to RTL mode. Thanks for posting that video. Did you (Trent & Nick) upgrade the PPM firmware on the APM2 or is that the way you got it from DIYDrones?
