Quick question Trent. I know that you said that you set the AOI of the wing very low to make it a little faster in the air. Did you play around at all with that or did you just set it and go? I have a scratch built similar to the geekstar that I have for my son. I intentionally set the AOI high for the wing to slow it down and make it more floaty. It really floats in the wind and should carry fpv when he gets there. Just curious. DJ

scbackyardflyer: I haven't done as much AOI testing as I'd like, but I did notice pretty quick that the Nova had less "floaty" feeling than the GeekStar... good for speed, bad for gentleness and stability at slow speeds.
I think a high AOI is perfect for beginners, small field flights, and for steady stable FPV stuff... I think you've made the right choice!
But AOI testing.... that sounds interesting : ) I may have to do that.

Not that you have time just lying around waiting for an application but...
Have you considered a semi-kit of the Nova?
Making happy customers in the model airplane business might be tough at times but it could help fund other projects.
Other than time, your biggest cost would be packaging for shipping.

rdstarwalt: I have considered this! In fact, something is in the works for this very idea... It is on hold until this fall/winter to allow my focus on the USA trip, but it its coming.
