Just putting up a first thread for the Nova! Feel free to add comments and post new threads on this subject. Ask questions, get help on how to build it and make suggestions to improve the airplane!
Thanks!

I´ve a question: If everything on the Nova is bigger than on the Geekstar (fuselage etc.), why do you use the same wing on it? Or did i misunderstood your comment on your video? Try a bigger wing, that means a bigger wingload and that means a better stallcharacteristics.
Merry Xmas

Yes looking at the video I think I would add two inches to the wings at least. be careful of making it short coupled though.
But otherwise, get a plan out and I might just try build one!

The Nova plans call for a 60 inch wing, but when I went to cut it I had some issues with my hot wire and it destroyed the wings. So I just used the GeekStar wings (54 inches) to stay on schedule with the show. I am currently making wings per the design.

The new wings have 6 additional inches (60). Plans are up on the website now, and a MGS Extra is coming on Wednesday (Dec 28th) showing how to get started. Thank you for your support Gary!

Hey Trent, Can the Nova do Pylon Racing By polishing it and put a high KV with Small prop on ?

I have seen that wing! It's a great way to build an excellent airfoil. I've gone that route and am currently testing solid wings made from foam blocks cut with a hot wire... just to explore my options. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Trent, Can the Nova do Pylon Racing By polishing it and put a high KV with Small prop on ? John Singapore Yes you could! You might be better building a "smaller" fuselage, i.e. shorter and thinner to reduce drag. If you're using a smaller prop then you wouldn't need so much prop clearance on the tail section.

Hi Trent,
I don't know if that was already mentioned, by I think you should spend some time on the control surfaces. You should sand down all the trailing edges on ailerons, elevator and rudder, and also streamline the profile on the tail section. Generally, make them little more aerodynamically efficient if the material allows. (But trailing edges are priority no. 1) It is causing you a LOT of drag, and will affect your endurance. It will also improve the handling at low speed. And keep the videos comming! Good work!

Adding some CF or FG to the tail should allow that square section to be trimmed... Thanks!

I think that the nova looks to much like the skywalker It does look quite a bit like it, but was not intentional. Episode 38 shows how I went from the GeekStar to the Nova. Didn't copy the Skywalker, but it appears there are only so many ways to have a behind the wing pusher airplane

Ha Trent good job mate looks great, dont think we have gorilla glue. Just need to find an alternative. BTW could you post the Nova plans in metric?

Hi flyinhy, I did the computation and the building plans with metric values (mm) is attached. I hope it will useful. Regards and happy flying Janos Ha Trent good job mate looks great, dont think we have gorilla glue. Just need to find an alternative. BTW could you post the Nova plans in metric? Attachments:
